At the PilatesWorks studio, the focus is on safely strengthening and lengthening the entire body, no matter what shape you’re in and what injuries or issues you might have. The studio offers only private instruction, which is the optimal way to learn this precise and effective system of exercise. Lessons are developed to meet the needs and goals of each individual.

Instructors at PilatesWorks are certified in what is known today as the classical, or authentic, Pilates method, a rigorous certification requiring hundreds of hours of training. This is the method that most closely follows Joseph Pilates’ exercises and sequences.

Pamela Nelson, owner of the PilatesWorks studio, was certified by Brett Howard, who was the director of education at the United States Pilates Association and who is the owner of Pilates Haus, a studio in Jersey City.

Jyoti Castiglia received her certification through The Art and Science of Contrology instructor training program led by Simona Cipriani, who owns The Art of Control studio in Stamford, Connecticut.

PilatesWorks has a full array of apparatus manufactured by Gratz, the best in the industry. The studio, located in Carmel Hamlet, New York, looks out through large picture windows over beautiful Lake Gleneida. Sessions are by appointment only.
